Terms of Service
Last updated: 11 October 2026
Pay once, use it on your Mac, get free 1.x updates. If it doesn't work for you, email within 14 days for a refund. Don't share or crack your key.
These terms cover downloading, buying and using NotchAbove, a macOS app made by an independent developer. By using it you agree to them.
The app
NotchAbove lives in your Mac's notch (or as a small pill on Macs and displays without one): audio switching, plus optional tabs for meetings, focus, eye breaks, pet care and more. It runs on macOS 13 or later, on Apple Silicon and Intel.
Your license
- A purchase gives you a personal, non-exclusive license to use NotchAbove on the number of Macs your license covers: 1 Mac for a Founders or Standard 1-Mac license, 2 or 3 Macs for the multi-Mac licenses.
- It's a one-time purchase. There is no subscription.
- Free updates are included for every 1.x version. A future major version may be sold separately; your 1.x copy keeps working.
- Your license key is yours: don't share, publish or resell it. Keys used beyond their activation limit may stop activating.
- To move to a new Mac, email us and we'll reset your activation.
Founders pricing
The first 100 copies are sold at the founders price, for 1 Mac. When they're gone the price goes to the standard price shown on the site. The count shown on the site is live; if two people buy the last copy at the same moment, both orders are honoured.
Refunds
If NotchAbove doesn't work for you, email sharmancm11@gmail.com within 14 days of purchase and you'll get a refund. A refunded license is deactivated. This doesn't affect any rights you have under the law where you live.
Payments
Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, who act as merchant of record and handle tax and receipts. Prices are shown in US dollars; your bank may convert them.
Install note
NotchAbove isn't notarized by Apple yet, so macOS asks you to confirm it the first time you open it. Here's how.
Acceptable use
Don't reverse-engineer, redistribute or try to bypass the licensing, and don't use the app for anything illegal. Third-party services the app connects to (GitHub, Dodo Payments, Music, Spotify and others) are used under their own terms.
Warranty and liability
NotchAbove is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app.
Changes
These terms may change as the app evolves; the date above shows the latest version. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
